Please help us fund the 12th annual Weekend Retreat

Hello Bellis Community,

We are just over a month away from our 12th Annual Bellis Weekend Retreat for women whose children are parented by others. Incredibly, we are welcoming 20 women, 13 of whom are new attendees, from 6 different states – Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Georgia, Florida, and California. To know that our work is encouraging people to travel from all parts of the country to participate in the weekend is truly amazing. This support is meaningful and life-changing for the women who attend. We are beyond grateful to provide this experience.

This year’s theme is I have been a thousand different women.based on the poem by Emory Hall. This theme encourages the women to embrace all the many versions of themselves that they have been, knowing that each one serves a purpose in helping to create the people they have yet to become. The weekend is filled with large and small group discussion, journaling, art activities, shared meals, nature walks, and deep connection with one another led by our incredible Bellis facilitators. There is a reason why word spreads about this magical and inspiring weekend.

Please read these anonymous quotes shared by Weekend Retreat participants of the past few years:

“This resource is so important and impactful. I would not be the same person I am today without these retreats. They have taught me confidence, empathy, mentorship, and more.”

“I was able to be vulnerable and enjoy it!”

“The most valuable aspect of the weekend was having the ability to be in a space with people who truly understand me.”

“You all are some of the best people I know. I am so grateful for the chance to be a part of this. This is a part of me, and I feel proud and accepting of my story. Bellis accepted me and loved me until I could love myself.”

Your contribution last year allowed us to provide this experience for free to all those who attend. We are humbly asking for your financial support again this year to continue to create a space where women feel seen, heard, and understood. Bellis’ ability to provide a space for women to receive unconditional empathy and nonjudgment in a safe and welcoming space allows for them to feel this for themselves and in turn give it to others. It is an incredible process to witness.
